In this edition of the "Behind Our Solutions” series, we had the pleasure of sitting down with Deepika Bhambhani, backend developer at Qmatic. Our conversation revealed not only the intricacies of her work but also the passion that drives her to continually innovate and improve our solutions.
The Backbone of User Experience
For those unfamiliar with the technical aspects of software development, Deepika provides an explanation of backend versus frontend development using a very simple example. "Whenever, for example, a user clicks a button, that is UI, a frontend developer handles, and that button publishes a request to the backend code," she explains. The backend will fetch all the data, process it, and send it to the frontend, and the work of the frontend is to display the required content.”

Innovating with Outlook Integration
One of the recent projects that Deepika was involved in was the integration of Microsoft Outlook with Qmatic Experience Cloud. "Our main challenge was to deliver on time and as per our customers' expectations," she shares. This integration required intricate synchronization between calendars and careful consideration of various scenarios.
Deepika elaborates on the complexity: "We had to make sure that when resources are unavailable or busy in outlook, we adjust their bookable times in our QEC system and make it compatible with Microsoft outlook calendar". The successful implementation of this feature has resulted in a more flexible and user-friendly experience for our customers, showcasing how behind-the-scenes work directly impacts the product's value.
“This was a very fun implementation, I would say. And I am really happy that our customers get such a nice and flexible user experience”, Deepika concludes.
Collaborative Problem-Solving
At Qmatic, product development is a team effort. Deepika describes their collaborative approach: "We have daily standups and sync-up meetings where we share what we are working with". These sessions create an environment where team members can brainstorm solutions together, ensuring that the products benefit from diverse perspectives and expertise.
Knowledge sharing is also a key aspect of their process. "We have knowledge transfer sessions where we share our knowledge or learn something new about different products," Deepika notes. This practice not only enhances individual skills but also contributes to the continuous improvement of our products.
Collaboration isn’t just important for product and skill development; it is important for the wellbeing of the employees as well. “We as a team, we know each other quite well. It's such a nice company to work with, with nice colleagues, and we share a good understanding with each other”, she says.

Deepika finds inspiration in the constant evolution of technology at Qmatic. She is enthusiastic about the company's focus on cloud solutions and integration with AWS infrastructure. "Along with that, I believe when it comes to innovation and doing something productive, Qmatic always encourages us to do that. That keeps me going on, and it motivates me to try something new every time”, she adds.

What truly sets Deepika apart is her insatiable appetite for learning and growth. "I don't like to be in my comfort zone... It's always about implementing something new, learning, exploring," she remarks. “Working with Qmatic Experience Cloud and now learning other products allows me to explore new things every time, which keeps me growing.”
